We do not usually make our own clothing. Patina Studio exists to write properly about pre-owned pieces from other people, and that is the work the team spends most of its time doing. But a small run of t-shirts has been in development for a while, and it is now in production. This is a short note explaining what is being made, why, and what to expect.
The range is four pieces. Heavyweight cotton, oversized cut, white only for this first drop. They are designed to sit alongside a pre-owned wardrobe rather than compete with it, which is why three of the four are quiet on the front and only become visible from the back.
Four pieces, one idea
Core Minimal + Signature. Small Patina Studio wordmark on the chest, a single handwritten line across the upper back: ...every piece, properly told x. The simplest of the four and the one most people will reach for first.
Archive Label + Handwritten Overlay. The same chest mark on the front. On the back, a typeset archive card noting category, condition, status, with the handwritten tagline overlaid in the lower right. It treats the t-shirt itself as one of the objects we write about.
Statement Tee. Small Ps monogram on the chest, then PATINA IS PROOF. set large across the back in a heavy sans, with the handwritten line tucked beneath it. The most direct of the four and the only one that makes a graphic point.
Field Notes / Marked Garment. Standard chest mark on the front. The back carries a sketched archive note: object type, location, date, with hand-drawn arrows pointing to a wear pattern, a repair point, and the word archive. It is the most lived-in of the four and the one that tells a small story.

The handwriting
The same line appears on every piece in the range: ...every piece, properly told x. It is the tagline that runs through the storefront, the journal, and the way we describe what we do. On the website it is set in Lora italic. On the t-shirts it is reproduced from an actual handwritten original, kept loose so it reads as a note rather than a logo.
What "in production" means
The garments are with the manufacturer now. We are working with a UK-based partner on a single small run, not an ongoing line. When the run lands it will sit on the storefront as a short-term release alongside the pre-owned pieces, and once it has gone it has gone. This is deliberate. The point of Patina Studio is the writing and the pieces we sell on behalf of other people, and the t-shirts are a small expression of the brand rather than a new direction for it.
Pricing, sizing, and exact availability will be confirmed when stock is in hand. Expect a short window for sign-ups before the run goes live.
How to know when they land
The simplest way is to keep an eye on the journal, where we will publish a second note the day the range becomes available. Anyone already on the storefront will see them appear in the usual way. There is nothing to sign up for yet.
